The Merced Police Department arrested a teenager responsible for the shooting that occurred on July 21st, 2019, at approximately 11:05 P.M. at the Merced Inn and Suites.

Officers of the Merced Police Department responded to 2010 East Childs Avenue for a report of shots fired at the Hotel.

Once Officers arrived at Merced Inn and Suites, they contacted a 27-year-old victim who reported he was shot at while standing outside his room at the hotel.

According to police, the victim sustained minor injuries to his leg and head and refused
medical treatment.

While officers were investigating the shooting, officers were advised of a hit and run accident.

Officers responded to the accident report and determined that the vehicle at the scene was actually the suspect’s vehicle from the shooting
at the hotel on East Childs Avenue.

Upon further investigation, 19-year-old Davion Tavanta Jackson was arrested after admitting he was involved in the shooting.

According to the Merced Sheriffs Jail record, Jackson was booked for Aggravated Assault with a firearm and Gang Enhancement.

The investigation is ongoing and The Merced Police are asking anyone with any information regarding these cases.
