A woman responsible for a deadly hit-and-run this morning has been arrested.

The woman was located walking on East Main Street and Orchard Lane at around 3:25 Saturday afternoon.

An officer driving in the area spotted the woman and detained her until investigators showed up and positively identified her.

She was taken to the hospital to get cleared before being booked into the Merced County Jail.

Merced Police Officers are investigating a crash that killed a driver in Merced.

It happened at around 7:30 on Saturday morning at the intersection of Carmen Way and La Mesa Court.

When officers arrived, they located two vehicles involved with major damage.

Life-saving measures were taken to save a man’s life but unfortunately, he died at the scene.

At this time it appears police are looking for the responsible for the other vehicle who left the scene.

The identity of the deceased person remains unknown. Stay tuned for further updates if they become available.
