On July 20th, 2019, at approximately 7:35 P.M., the Merced Police Department received a report of shots fired, police responded to the 200 block of East Brookdale Drive in the City of Merced.

When officers arrived in the area they located a man in his 20s with injuries consistent of gunshot wounds.

Merced Gateway viewers said there was also Police presence in the area of East Bear Creek and Glen Avenue, it’s possible the shooting occurred in that area and left to the Brookdale location.

The man was taken to an out of area hospital.

The shooting remains under investigation, Merced Police Department is not releasing any information at this time.

Witnesses in the area told Merced Gateway News, the shooting was due to a weed deal gone bad, MGN as not confirmed that yet.
