On Sunday, May 26th, 2019, at approximately 9:30 a.m. the Merced Police Department responded to the interactions of “M” Street and West 13th for a report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, police located a man outside the Sacred Heart Church suffering from stab wounds.

Witnesses said that the stabbing did not take place there. A security officer at the church said: “The male victim showed up and said he was stabbed by a homeless”.

At this time it is unknown the description of the suspect/s and if the victim is also homeless.
