The Los Banos area California Highway Patrol is investigating a collision that left two people dead.

CHP responded to the collision in the area of Almond Drive and Ortigalita Road at around 9:35 a.m. today.

Authorities say when they arrived they located a single vehicle into the Delta Mendota canal.

CHP says the bodies found in the canal is a female and a male and appear to be from the Dos Palos area.
