A woman was hit and killed by a BNSF train Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies responded to Santa Fe Avenue in Winton after receiving information about a person hit by a train.
It happened at around 1:00, Public Information Officer Michael Domingue told Merced Golden Wire News that she was a middle-aged woman and her identity is unknown at this time.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Merced County Sheriff’s Office.
