On December 13, 2022, at approximately 2:37 pm, Merced Communications Center received calls of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of
State Route 33 and Panoche Road, Officers from the California Highway Patrol Los Banos Area Office responded to the scene.

Preliminary investigation indicates Mr, Bohner of Clovis, CA was driving a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta westbound on Panoche Road east of State
Route 33 at an unknown speed. At the same time, Mr. Anguiano of Firebaugh, CA, was driving a 1999 Thomas School Bus, with 20 students and 3 school staff members, southbound on State Route 33 north of Panoche Road, at approximately 60 mph.

It is unknown if Mr. Bohner came to a complete stop at the intersection, or if Mr. Bohner failed to stop at the intersection and failed to yield the right of way to Mr. Anguiano, while he was an immediate hazard.

Mr. Anguiano, unable to avoid a crash, the front of the Thomas School Bus crashed into the
right side of the Volkswagen Jetta. Mr. Bohner and his passenger sustained major injuries and were transported by helicopter to a local
hospital. Several of Mr. Anguiano’s passengers sustained minor injuries and were transported by their parents to local medical facilities.

Alcohol and/or drugs are not a factor in this crash.
