ARE YOU GETTING DEPOSITS IN YOUR BANK ACCOUNT FROM WAL-MART?

If you’re not in the habit of regularly checking your bank account, this story should be a wake-up call.

A Merced Gateway News viewer issued us an alert, to warn our viewers about debit card fraud at Wal-Mart crediting your bank account small transactions of .50 cents or under, to verify that the accounts do exist. Then they withdraw a large amount of money from your account if it’s not caught on time.

They use such small transactions that it’s really hard to identify. This viewer stated that she called her bank and reported it. Her bank account states it was at the Wal-Mart here in Merced. We did see other comments that it’s not just in Merced. It’s also happening in Los Banos, Modesto, and probably the whole Central Valley.

Merced Gateway News just wants to put this out there and let the community know to keep checking their bank accounts for any suspicious transactions, if you do come up to anything suspicious call your bank immediately and report it.
