The Patterson Police department has taken a proactive approach to combat human trafficking. On top of being against the law, they view this as a moral dilemma as young and vulnerable women are often exploited.
To this end, they have been conducting various stings over the past year working with neighboring agencies to help put a dent in this horrific crime.
Last night with the help from Stanislaus Probation, Riverbank Police Services, Stanislaus Parole, City of Turlock Police Department, and the Clarion Hotel a human trafficking sting was conducted. In total 19 people were arrested. They did not release names, but below are some pictures of their “Johns”.
Charges ranged from soliciting to pimping. Many of the females arrested are actually victims and although they were arrested this was done to direct them to resources to help them.
