On November 3, 2018, at approximately 1:00P.M., the California Highway Patrol Merced Communications Center received a call from a resident at the 1900 block of Sagewood Drive in Atwater.

The resident had just arrived to his home when he observed a grey Mitsubishi SUV pull into his driveway. The resident observed three suspects exit the vehicle and proceed towards his house. The resident noticed the suspects were wearing hoodies and masks.

The resident attempted to block the suspect vehicle in the driveway with his vehicle but the driver of the suspect vehicle was able to maneuver around and escape. The resident took foot pursuit of the remaining suspects but was unable to apprehend them before they fled into a dirt field.
