The Merced County Sheriff’s Department confirmed they located a van in the water at Lake Yosemite in Merced.

At around 3:00 Wednesday afternoon deputies responded to the back of the lake for reports of a vehicle inside the water.

When deputies arrived, they confirmed they located a vehicle inside the water and closed the area to the public. The Sheriff’s Department dive team responded to the scene and recovered the vehicle.

No victims were located in the vehicle, the vehicle was covered in graffiti and was currently not reported stolen according to Captain Rosenberg from the Merced Sheriff’s Department.
