Man to be arraigned for the shooting in Downtown that sent several juveniles to the hospital

On July 8th, 2020, Merced County Superior Court Judge Ronald Hansen found sufficient evidence to hold Eric Lee to answer on seven counts of attempted murder with gang and firearm enhancements and one count of carrying a loaded firearm in public.

These charges stem from the January 30th, 2020, shooting in Downtown Merced that left Five of seven Juveniles injured according to the District Attorney’s office.

On January 30th, 2020, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers from the Merced Police Department responded to the area of West Main and H streets for reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located four victims who all had been shot at, all victims were found in separate locations in the area.

All four victims were taken to Modesto area hospitals, one in critical condition and the other three in stable condition.

Lee will be arraigned on the information on July 22, 2021.
