Box Truck goes airborne on Highway 99 in Merced County, this is what happened

On September 13, 2019, at approximately 3:15 a.m, the Merced Communications Center advised CHP officers of a solo vehicle collision on Northbound 99 and Collier Road.

Upon arrival, officers and medical personnel located a box truck on Collier Road overturned underneath the bridge of Southbound and Northbound 99 lanes.

Upon further investigation, officers determined 25-year-old Rashad Evans was driving an Isuzu box truck northbound on SR-99, south of Collier Road at an unknown high rate of speed according to CHP public information officer Zuniga.

 

According to the report, Evans allowed the Isuzu to drift into the center divider, causing it to go airborne and colliding down the Collier Road under cross

Evans was airlifted to Doctor’s Medical Center in Modesto with pain to his whole body, bloody nose and mouth.

No drugs/alcohol are suspected to contribute to the collision.
