34-year-old woman killed on Southbound 99 collision in Livingston

A 34-year-old Fresno woman is dead after a fatal collision on Highway 99 in Merced County early Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers responded to a call at around 3:49 a.m., for reports of a traffic collision in the area of Southbound 99 and Winton Parkway, according to CHP public information officer Zuniga.

The woman was driving a 1997 Lexus traveling Southbound 99, just North of Winton Parkway at an unknown speed when she drifted to the center median and hit the center divider causing the vehicle to overturn.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, Zuniga said. Authorities did not release the name of the woman.

No other vehicles or passengers were involved in this collision.

Authorities say the woman was wearing her seatbelt at time of the collision. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor. The collision remains under investigation.
