VEHICLE CRASHES BIG RIG TURNING INTO HIS DRIVEWAY ON FRANKLIN ROAD

Merced, CA- A 2016 big rig and a 1997 white Lexus collided at around 12:58P.M. The driver of the big rig, 26 year old Ramiro Vasquez, of Merced was traveling northbound on Franklin Road Vasquez was making a left turn into the driveway of his residence on the 2900 Block of Franklin rd, when the white Lexus was traveling at an unknown speed crashed into the big rig that was halfway in the southbound lane of the Lexus. Witnesses said “The Lexus did not seem to attempt to stop there are no skid marks” he said.

The driver of the Lexus 21 year old Miranda had minor visible injuries,Three other passengers were in the car, For precautionary a 12-year old boy was transported to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera and a 10 year old girl was transported to Regional Medical Center in Fresno,The third passenger, an 18-year-old female, had no visible injuries but complained of some pain. Vasquez went to pick up his rig to get ready to drive to Utah to deliver a shipment of ice cream. Vasquez was not injured just shaken up.The speed limit in the area is 40 mph, witnesses say cars travel through that area at highway speed.

Alcohol and drugs are not a factor in this collision CHP will be handling the investigation.

    You know my aunt was driving the Lexus and my three cousins were in the car and I was in the car with them to but she dropped me off to get a haircut and five minutes after that she got into the crash
