Update on Big rig tanker carrying milk, overturned in Delhi

On March 24th, 2019, at approximately 9:55 pm, Merced area CHP Communications office received a call of a big rig overturned. CHP units arrived at the scene and observed a big rig hauling a milk tanker overturned on its passenger side blocking the Bradbury Road overpass directly over NB SR-99.

At time of the investigation, officers discovered that 29-year-old Mariam Zakaria of Ceres was driving a 2014 Honda on the SR-99 NB off ramp to Bradbury Road and had come to a stop at the posted stop sign.

42-year-old Tony Yonansardroud of Turlock was driving a 2017 Western tractor truck hauling a milk tanker on westbound Bradbury Road East for SR-99. For unknown reason, Miss Zakaria continued through the intersection, directly in the path of the tractor truck.

The tractor truck collided with the right front of the Honda. The tractor truck overturned on its passenger side, coming to rest blocking the lanes of Bradbury.

Yonansardoud was transported to Emanuel Hospital for complaint for pain, no other injuries were reported. No drugs or alcohol are a factor to this collision.
