Two men killed their dogs, claiming the dogs killed their small pigs

On Friday, October 19, 2018, Tulare County prosecutors filed animal cruelty charges against Angel Perez 51-year-old, and Carlos Rivera,18-year-old, for an alleged incident which occurred on October 17, 2018, in which they killed two dogs in Orosi. Detectives learned that Valencia and Rivera suspected the dogs killed their baby pigs. So, they hung both dogs and beat them to death with sticks.

Both men are charged with four felony counts of cruelty to an animal with the special allegations of using a deadly weapon.

The defendants were arraigned at the county pre-trial facility on October 19, 2018, and will return to court for a preliminary hearing conference on October 30, 2018. If convicted on all counts, both men face up to nine years in prison.
