The Merced area California Highway Patrol is investigating a collision that sent a motorcyclist to a hospital with major injuries Saturday afternoon.

CHP responded to the collision on Southbound Highway 99 near Applegate Road exit in Atwater at around 1:00 p.m., today.

According to CHP reports, a motorcycle was hit by an RV bus, the Motorcyclist was taken by Riggs Ambulance to an unknown hospital with major injuries. The identification of the motorcyclists remains unknown.

The collision remains under investigation, no other injuries are being reported at this time, this story is developing stay tuned for further information when it becomes available.
