Merced police say they seized illegal fireworks from a 20-year-old man.

Officer Elliott responded to the 4900 block of Webber Court for illegal fireworks being set off at around 12:17 Monday morning.

Officer Elliott contacted 20-year-old Oscar Benitez Garcia who was lighting off fireworks and admitted to possessing more fireworks.

Officer Elliott confiscated the remainder of the illegal fireworks. Benitez-Garcia was arrested for being in possession of illegal fireworks.
