Merced Police arrest man parked outside Jamba Juice with illegal firearms

Merced Police Department officers arrested a man after weapons were found in his possession.

Officers responded to the parking lot of Jamba Juice on May 31st, 2020, at approximately 1:00 p.m., for reports of a man armed with firearms.

According to the Merced Police Department, the reporting person(s) described the suspect as occupying a blue Nissan Altima with tinted windows.

Officers arrived in the area and surveyed the area in an attempt to locate the suspected vehicle. Once identified, Officers approached tactically and confronted the suspect in the vehicle.

Upon contact, the suspect 21-year-old David Ramirez was in possession of a loaded un-serialized ghost handgun concealed in his shorts.

A second firearm identified as a Colt, AR-22 was located in the trunk of the vehicle along with a loaded high capacity 9mm pistol magazine.

Ramirez was arrested and booked into the Merced County jail on various weapons charges.
