Gang members arrested in Merced, one was arrested for attempted homicide

A man was arrested for an attempt murder warrant, gang violations and possession of a stolen firearm.

Merced police Officer Saldivar conducted a vehicle stop in the 1400 block of Martin Luther King Jr.Way at around 4:00 p.m., The Merced police department said.

Officers arrested the driver 28-year-old Eduardo Nepomuceno for driving on a suspended license.

30-year-old Adrian Noel Torres was in the back seat with what appeared to be clothing to leave town, Merced police said.

Authorities say a search of the vehicle revealed a stolen firearm, police say Adrian provided several false names before he was identified.

Adrian had an active warrant for attempted homicide. Torres is an active gang member and was arrested for his warrant, gang enhancements and possession of a stolen firearm.

Nepomuceno was arrested for gang enhancements and possession of a stolen firearm as well.
