Bicyclist taken to hospital after being hit by vehicle in Merced

Merced police department officers responded to the area of West Highway 140 near the Arco AM PM gas station for a report of a vehicle versus a pedestrian at approximately 12:05 a.m. Friday morning.

Upon arrival, officers located a male in his mid 20’s with injuries and appeared to be riding a bicycle in an area where there is no crosswalk.

The man was seen taken by Riggs ambulance in an unknown condition.

The vehicle involved did not stay at the scene, police are reviewing video in the area at this time.
