The Atwater Police Department says they are investigating a suspicious death after receiving reports of a domestic violence at a residence in Atwater.

Officers responded to the 1400 block of Packers Street at around 8:50 Saturday night to attempt to contact the suspect in a domestic violence call that occurred in the 700 block of Wayside in the City of Atwater minutes before officers arrived.

Upon arrival, officers observed a Hispanic Male Adult through a window that appeared injured and lying in the living room of the residence.

Officers forced entry into the residence and attempted to assist the injured person who had multiple stab wounds. Emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures but unfortunately, the man died.

Officers are investigating the relationship between the incident and the earlier domestic violence call. No arrests have been made at this time. Officers are interviewing family members and collecting evidence at the scene.

This investigation is in the early stages and the Atwater Police Department needs the public’s help in gathering information related to both cases.
