Hilmar, CA- An investigation by both the cheese factory and Cal Fire is ongoing into the cause of a fire that started at the Cheese Factory in Hilmar California. The fire started around 12:30 p.m. on December 29th,2018.

The fire was contained to the top roof at around 2:20 p.m., machinery on the roof was damaged also.Workers were evacuated safely and no one was hurt battling the blaze. The plant did not shut down and resumed operation when it was safe to do so.
