19-YEAR-OLD THREATENS TO SHOOT GUSTINE HIGH SCHOOL

At approximately 11:45AM On February 16th, 2018, School Resource Officer Eric Warner, received information from Gustine High School officials, that a local 19-year-old former Gustine High School student, had posted on his Facebook account, a picture of Nickolas Cruz, the suspect arrested in the Florida high school shooting, and wrote the comment “Imma be the next one to shoot up a place I don’t like GHS.”

Gustine Police has had numerous contacts with this individual. School resource officer Warner and Officer’s Efren Fernandez and Francisco Martinez went to the former student’s residence on the 100 block of 6th Street, to arrest him for felony criminal threats.

The suspect attempted to flee police custody as he jumped over his backyard fence and into the back alley. Officer Martinez was able to apprehend the suspect and take him into custody. The former Gustine High School student is being charged with making criminal threats, resisting arrest and violation of his probation.

He was transported and booked into the Merced County Sheriff’s Detention Facility.
