The driver 64-year-old Charles Westbrooks out of Mississippi was pinned in the tractor-trailer and had to be extricated using “jaws of life” tools. Westbrooks was medi-flighted to a Modesto hospital with serious injuries.

A short time later a second collision occurred involving a 2005 GMC driven by 54-year old Carlos Pacheco out of Atwater and a 2017 Suzuki motorcycle driven by 25-year-old Robert Nelms out of Atwater. The Motorcycle driver rear-ended the GMC, Robert was also flown to a hospital in Fresno.

Both collisions remain under investigation. No drugs or alcohol appear to be a factor in both collisions.
