School Bus driving the wrong way on highway 99 collides with a vehicle

Fresno, CA- On March 28th, 2019, at approximately 10:50 p.m., the Fresno California Highway Patrol received a call of two school buses driving the wrong way on Northbound highway 99 near Ashlan Avenue. Shortly after CHP received another call of a traffic collision.

Officers from the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene. The initial investigation found that 55-year-old Dianne Bell driving a 2019 Thomas Bus was following another School bus and she entered northbound highway 99 the wrong way from the Golden State Boulevard off-ramp.

At the same time, 50-year-old Marilyn Gorman was driving a 2008 Ford F-150 northbound on highway 99 just south of Ashlan boulevard, the Ford then struck the bus. As a result of the collision Gorman sustained minor injuries, she was treated on scene by American Ambulance.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor. No students were in the bus at the time of the collision.
