Atwater Police have arrested a man who allegedly stole medication from a customer at CVS.

Officers were dispatched to the CVS Pharmacy at 1651 Bellevue Road for a report of a strong-arm robbery on Monday just before 7:00 p.m., police said.

The subject allegedly grabbed a bag of prescription medication from a customer and ran from the store.

Officers checking the area found the subject they later identified as Matthew Palmer walking north on Hillcrest Road just north of Bellevue Road.

Palmer was detained after the officer observed him to be carrying a CVS Pharmacy bag.

Prescription medication belonging to the victim were found inside the bag. He was later booked to the Merced County Jail.
