Major Injury Collision Vehicle vs Pedestrian

Merced Police is investigating a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in Merced Friday night.

Officers responded to the area of East 21st Street and G street at sound 10:29 for reports of a vehicle vs a pedestrian.

The pedestrian sustained major injuries and has been transported to an area trauma center.

The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and is cooperative with investigators. At this time, alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a contributing factor.

Please select an alternate route if you expect to travel through this area. The eastbound and westbound lanes of East 21st are blocked off. Northbound G Street has been reduced to one lane.
