Merced Rite Aid robbery, one arrested, one outstanding

On Tuesday, September 11, 2018, the Merced Police Department Officers responded to a report of a robbery at Rite Aid, 1158 W. Main St., Merced.

Rite Aid Employees reported two suspects entered Rite Aid wearing white masks covering their faces. One suspect went to the register and demanded money and the other suspect approached a customer and demanded his cell phone. Both suspects fled from the store on foot.

Officers responded to the area and arrested one of the suspects, 20-year-old Gregory BanksFlores, a few blocks away from the store.

BanksFlores, a validated Norteno Gang member who is on active probation out of Merced County, was booked at the Merced County Jail for Robbery.

The second suspect is outstanding and has not been identified.
