On February 1st, 2018, at around 5:20PM Merced police, Riggs Ambulance and Merced firefighters responded to a residential structure fire at intersection of Glen Avenue and East 21st street. According to some witnesses a man was running around in the front yard of the home in flames.

The man was taken by Riggs to a hospital with second degree burns. When at the scene firefighters where rinsing themselves off and discarding their gear for safety reasons.

The cause of the fire will be under investigation. At this time police and firefighters say it could possibly be a Marijuana lab (WAX) that caused the incident.  Pg&e also arrived at the scene for safety reasons. Stay tuned for more information when police finish the investigation.
