A MAN WEARING PEST CONTROL GEAR ROBS HILMAR PHARMACY

An unusual armed robbery of the Walgreen’s in Hilmar took place last week. On January 25, 2018 the Merced County Sheriff’s Office received a call from Walgreen’s employees saying they had just been robbed. When deputies arrived on scene the suspect had already left the area heading northbound on Hwy 165 towards Turlock. Additionally, the vehicle was described as a white colored newer model Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Z71 crew cab pick-up.

Deputies spoke with the employees who were involved and they stated a male subject wearing a white colored disposable jumpsuit walked into the store with a backpack sprayer. The employees added that the man had his face covered with some sort of dust mask and wore a blue and white colored baseball hat, and sunglasses. The man walked back towards the pharmacy and showed the staff a handgun in his waist band and demanded all the cash. The man then left in his pickup truck headed towards Turlock.

The attached photos were taken from the surveillance footage and shows the male subject may have had a tattoo on the right side of his neck. If you have any information about this crime please contact the Merced County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division at 209-385-7472.
