Merced City Firefighters are investigating a structure fire at 1004 West 20th.

Merced Police and City Fire responded to the home just before 8:00 p.m., neighbors say they heard about two loud explosions. The First fire unit on the scene reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the backside of the home.

A woman was checked by medical personnel at the scene but refused any medical treatment, no other injuries were reported.

Five people have been displaced from the home, the structure sustained major damage according to Merced City Fire Battalion Chief Brunelli.

Pg&e also responded to the scene.

The fire remains under investigation according to fire officials.
