Man shot in Atwater, runs into Bobbi’s liquor for help

On March 13th, 2019 at approximately 11:35 p.m., Atwater police responded to Bobbi’s liquor for a possible shooting, upon arrival officers located a 47-year-old man who was shot on his foot.

The victim provided very limited details, he told officers he had exchanged words with two black males driving southbound on Shaffer road while he was walking.

The Victim stated that the driver stopped the car and two males jumped out from a dark-colored vehicle, one of them with a shotgun, and shot him in the foot as he was attempting to run away from them.

The victim then ran to Bobbi’s liquor for help Police say no witnesses or any other calls of shots fired came in.

According to officers the victim became uncooperative at some point during the investigation, he was transported to a Merced Hospital with the one non-life threatening gunshot wound to his foot.
