On December 18th, 2019, at approximately 7:40 p.m., Merced Police officers responded to the area of Yosemite Parkway and Marthella Avenue near Rancho San Miguel for a report of a vehicle vs a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male pedestrian who was unresponsive, medical personnel immediately performed life-saving measures, unfortunately, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

According to officer McKinnon, the driver of a white-colored pick-up stayed at the scene and was being cooperative, speed or alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

The name and age of the pedestrian were not available, pending notification of next of kin.
