Some businesses are advising other businesses and  customers of a fake card/letter circulating around.

Papa Murphy’s Pizza in Merced had a notice on their door window advising all customers are required to enter with a mask, covering both mouth and nose.

According to the U.S. Justice Department, if someone comes into your establishment, holding a card that says they’re exempt from wearing a face covering, it’s fake.

The cardholder claims they are exempt from wearing a mask because it will allegedly cause mental and physical risk. The card also contains a Department of Justice logo and cites the Americans with Disabilities Act.

To help limit the spread of the Coronavirus, many states are requiring people to wear face coverings in places open to the public.

The cards are circulating online and on social media according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
