Big rig spills load of hay on southbound 99 lanes, after collision in Merced

On June 24th, 2019, at approximately 10:42 p.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to the area of Southbound highway 99 near the Yosemite Parkway exit for a collision involving a vehicle vs a big rig hauling Hay.

Upon arrival, officers found hay scattered all over southbound lanes, a full closure on the southbound lanes was placed.

Expect delays and to use alternate routes, the collision remains under investigation.

    Glad to hear that no one was injured in the accident. Sorry that people in the area are just stealing the hay that is still in bales. This is stealing as the hay is someone’s lively hood.
