The California Highway Patrol is reporting a traffic advisory, at approximately 1:15 am officers responded to a traffic collision on State Route 99 southbound, south of Road 15.

The collision involved an overturned big rig carrying approximately 7,500 gallons of gasoline.

Due to damage to the roadway traffic has been diverted to Chowchilla Boulevard with an unknown estimated time of reopening.

The driver complained of pain, no major injuries are being reported.

Motorist can expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes according to officer Zuniga from the Merced CHP office.
