Merced Police is investigating a collision involving a pedestrian in Merced.

Officers responded to the area of State Route Highway 140 near Home Depot at approximately 12:58 Wednesday afternoon for reports of a vehicle vs a pedestrian collision.

When officers arrived, they located an 84-year-old woman. The elderly woman is being transported by Riggs Ambulance to an area hospital for treatment.

Authorities say the woman was not crossing the roadway in a marked crosswalk.

The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor, police said.
