According to The Merced County Coroners Office, the 20-year-old shot on Monday’s night double shooting at Merino Park in Merced, was identified as Samuel Bernal.

On August 12th, 2019, at approximately 8:56 p.m, Merced Police Dispatch received calls of shots fired.

Officers arrived at Merino Park on El Redondo Drive and Pacific Drive and found two males suffering from gunshot wounds.

One is a 17-year-old male and a 20-year-old, both Merced Residents.

Both victims were transported by Riggs Ambulance personnel for medical treatment.

One victim has life-threatening wounds and is in critical condition. Officers, Detectives and Crime Scene personnel are actively working the scene.
