15-year-old boy riding motorcycle hit and killed by big rig, Merced CHP says

A 15-year-old boy was killed Sunday afternoon in a crash according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers responded to the intersections of Bradbury road and Clausen road at approximately 4:24 p.m., for a report of a big rig vs a motorcycle collision.

Upon arrival, officers located a 15-year-old boy from Turlock deceased.

According to CHP, the boy was riding a Yamaha dirt bike without a helmet northbound on Clausen road approaching Bradbury road and failed to stop at a posted stop sign.

The driver of the Kenworth big rig, a 28-year-old man from Turlock was traveling Eastbound on Bradbury road approaching Clausen road when he was broadsided by the motorcycle.

The big rig driver did not sustain any injuries, alcohol or drugs are not suspected at this time, Merced CHP officer Zuniga said.
