On April 4th, 2020, just after 8:00 a.m., Merced CHP and Merced Sheriff’s officers responded to the area of Southbound 99 at the Franklin Road overpass.

According to Merced Sheriff’s public information officer Deputy Allen, they received reports of a woman attempting to jump from the bridge.

Deputy Allen told Merced Gateway News, the woman approximately 38-years-old, jumped from the bridge onto highway 99 and sustained multiple injuries, she was taken to a Modesto Hospital.

The woman’s condition is unknown at this time.
