On December 31st, 2018, at approximately 1:40 P.M. Merced Police officers were dispatched to Carls Jr located at 300 West Olive Avenue. Upon officers arrival, they located an elderly woman that had accidentally stepped on the gas pedal of her vehicle instead of the brakes while she was attempting to park in front of the structure.

According to officer Crain, Merced City Fire department responded to the call to inspect any damage to the structure. No damages to the structure of the building appeared to be affected. The location was given the approval to remain open for business.

Only minor damage was done to the structure bricks. The woman was checked by Riggs ambulance on scene and released. No further information was available.
