Atwater,CA-On December 9th, 2017 at approximately 2:23 PM, Atwater PD received calls regarding a traffic collision involving two vehicles at Juniper Avenue and Valley Street. Details provided were that one of the vehicles struck a cement wall with two people trapped inside.
Cal-Fire responded to the scene and had to extricate the driver and passenger from the vehicle that struck the cement wall. Life saving efforts were unsuccessful and both the driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the second involved vehicle was identified as a 76 year old female who did not sustain any injuries. The collision is being investigated by the Atwater Police Department’s Traffic Division and the names of the victims are being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
