On May 10th, 2020, at approximately 7:42 p.m., Merced Police officers responded to a fatal traffic collision in the 1100 block of Motel Drive.

Police say a 20-year-old female was driving eastbound on Motel drive in a Red 2003 Mazda 6 when she lost control of the car causing it to roll onto its side.

The driver of the Mazda sustained major injuries and succumbed to those injuries at the scene.

Alcohol does appear to be a factor in this collision. The Traffic Division personnel are actively working this investigation to determine the exact cause.
