The Second Motorcyclist killed this Weekend, this happened on Ashby Road

On March 30th, 2019, at approximately 9:33 p.m., the Merced California Highway Patrol received a call of a collision with an ambulance responding to the area of Ashby Road near Langtry Avenue.

Officers arrived on scene and located a pickup truck and a motorcycle that had collided, the Merced County Fire Department was performing CPR on the motorcyclist.

Upon further investigation of the collision, officers determined the motorcyclist 43-year-old male from Merced was traveling Westbound on Ashby West of Langtry Avenue at an unknown rate of speed.

The driver of the Dodge pickup truck 29-year-old also from Merced was backing into a driveway of a friend’s home with a utility trailer to drop it off.

The Motorcyclist subsequently struck the left front wheel of the pickup truck causing him to be fully ejected from the motorcycle and sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision.

Alcohol or drugs are believed to be a factor for the motorcyclist but has not been confirmed yet according to CHP.
