Merced police arrested 23-Year-old Dalahn Salone for attempted armed Saturday night.

Police say Salone entered Rite Aid at 3142 G Street at around  9:15 and demanded cash from the clerk at the register. He pointed a gun at the clerk’s face and ran off after she screamed.

A witness followed Salone from a distance and called 911 to report the crime. Salone walked across E. Olive Ave and entered Walgreens.

Officers arrived at Walgreens and detained Salone when he exited. Salone had a black Glock-style BB gun concealed in his waistband. Salone was identified as the suspect in the attempted robbery.

Salone was booked into custody at the Merced County Jail.
