Merced Police locate over 70 additional stolen Catalytic converters

On February 18, 2020, Merced Police Department detectives continued to follow up on the arrest of Christopher Means.

Means had been previously arrested after multiple catalytic converters were found at his residence.

As the investigation continued, detectives learned that Means had a storage unit where he was storing catalytic converters. During the initial interview of Means, he denied renting or having a location where other catalytic converters were stored.

The storage unit which was tied to Means was located in the 1100 block of Yosemite Ave. In the storage unit, detectives located over 70 catalytic converters.

In addition to the catalytic converters, detectives located several boxes of the material which had been removed from the inside of the catalytic converters.
