Officers with the Merced Police Officers were dispatched to a shots fired call in the 3100 Block of Nottingham Avenue.

When officers arrived in the area, they discovered the gunshot victim.

The 40-year-old male victim was conscious and spoke with police officers at the scene and he did not report any crime, the man had a gunshot wound to his upper torso.

The scene where the shooting occurred was secured by Merced Police Officers and Detectives responded to investigate this shooting.

Riggs Paramedics arrived at the scene to provide medical assistance to the victim. Subsequently, the victim was air-lifted to a regional hospital in Stanislaus County.
