Merced Police officers are investigating a report of a shooting in the 1500 block of La Mirada Drive.

Officers responded at around 4:50 Monday afternoon for reports of an individual shot in the leg. When officers arrived they located a male with a gunshot. Riggs ambulance arrived and transported the victim to a hospital.

The shooter appeared to have left the area on foot, a possible second suspect might have been involved, that information is not confirmed at this time. Police say the shooting happened after a confrontation between the victim and the suspect.
